Compared with other types of filter presses, membrane squeeze filter press is able to remove a significant amount of fluid. Meanwhile, it can reduce cycle time of solid liquid separation. Now, let’s know about the working process of diaphragm squeeze filter press.

The filtration process of membrane filter press mainly has six steps.

  1. Firstly, the keep plate will press membrane filter plates tightly by the hydraulic cylinder. And these filter plates will form multiple sealed chambers.
  2. When the pressure reaches specified value, the keep plate will stop moving and the whole machine stays in constant pressure.
  3. The feeding process starts. The pump will send the slurry into each chamber via the feeding port on the thrust plate. With the constant pressure and pump pressure, the solid materials in the slurry will form into filter cakes between every two filter cakes. At the same time, the liquid will be forced out of the chamber.
  4. When the feeding process is over, filter cake washing and air blowing will be conducted. (These two operations are optional).
  5. Then, you can replenish the membrane filter plates with high-pressure water or air to squeeze filter cakes. In this way, extra water in the filter cakes will reduce.
  6. Finally, the keep plate will loosen and return to its starting position, when no water flows out. You can pull the filter plates to discharge filter cakes.
